Contact

Since you clicked this link and landed on this page (a mighty fine page, I might add), it probably means you are most likely interested in contacting the Head of All Things Slaggle in some way. I have been accused of being very social in the past, and yes, it is true. Tim is very fond of all things social and thoroughly enjoys the social web. When I am not blogging about the various benefits and problems of social convergence, playing copious amounts of World of Warcraft, or singing my heart out (badly) to Rock Band songs, I can be found online at these various online hangouts.

Facebook Facebook is a central resource for me keeping in touch with my real-life friends. Useful for event information, acting as a rudimentary contact list, and wasting time with a bazillion applications *poke*. It’s such a better alternative to the crappy markup infested MySpace. It’s like MySpace, but good. If you are a member of Facebook, you can check out my profile. If you want to be my friend, send me a request. Be warned that if I don’t know you in real life you will likely get added to a pretty restricted user list. No offense intended, but I don’t need everyone on the Interwebz knowing my cell-phone number.

Twitter Twitter is crack. Pure and simple. Who doesn’t like sending short bloggy messages to the world and receiving like responses? It’s an excellent way to find out what your favorite people are doing up to the minute, and it is very accessible. Send updates from your phone via text messages, instant messages, the web, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a Twitter app to send messages via a toilet or a toaster. Follow me on Twitter and I’ll follow you back. Promise.

Digg Digg is a social news site where people submit interesting stories, pictures, and video. Whatever the community likes gets promoted to the front page. I’ve been a fan of Digg since its inception and digg stories on a regular basis. I’m not really the type of person to submit stories, but I really enjoy reading other peoples’ submissions. Add me as a friend on Digg and check out what I’ve been digging.

Last.fm Last.fm is a great site for listening to music, finding new stuff to listen to, and being generally social about the music scene. It can look at your music listening habits in iTunes and Windows Media Player (among others via third-party plugins) and build dynamic lists of music to listen to based on those habits. Once you use it a bit it really does start playing music that is stuff you will really enjoy. Add me as a friend on Last.fm and find out what I listen to.

Google Reader Google Reader is a way to view RSS feeds for various web sites and data sources in a single place. What is an RSS feed? To put it really simply, it is a feed of headlines, news, blog entries, and similar stuff from web sites and other sources. This blog has an RSS feed for every new blog entry as well as all the new comments. A very large number of web sites out there have RSS feeds you can subscribe to, and Google Reader makes it easy to keep track of those. Check out my Google Reader page and add me as a friend if you wish.

Friendfeed Friendfeed is a newer service that takes all your social networks and gives you a feed of all your recent updates, as well as the recent updates of all your friends. It’s a convenient interface and really touches on what I call social convergence. My friendfeed is here so add me as a friend and keep in touch.

Flickr Flickr is an image sharing social site. You upload your photos, tag them in various ways, and share them with the world. You can search for cool photos based on tags, your friends, or whatever. It’s a great way to visually interact with your friends and the world. My flickr page is here although I don’t upload as much as I could. I’ll get better, I promise.

If you don’t want to use any of these social services, you can always e-mail me I guess.
