Like a leaf on the wind…

Four hours of sleep isn’t enough. Especially when the sleep you try to get is ripped from you by the shrill chirp of a vengeful pager at the most productive times of the evening.

I managed to get just about every piece of software I think I could need onto my Treo 650, with the exception of some games and maybe a blogging software. But I think I’m going to try to write my own blogging application in Java and use the IBM WebSphere runtime thingy to launch it. Or maybe I’ll learn to write Palm apps. I dunno. I’ll post a full review when I get a chance. This phone freaking rocks.

Saturday we went to see Serenity and man was I impressed. I’ve been a fan of Firefly since it first aired on Fox (even though they screwed it up royally). I thought for sure Joss would screw it up on the big screen, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the movie flowed. Good character interaction, and entertaining story, and plenty o’ action. There were moments when I couldn’t stop laughing, but then the story would twist and I’d want to cry. This movie tugs at all sorts of emotions, which is really unexpected from a sci-fi movie.

The only negative thing I could say about the movie is that some of the characterizations were a bit off. I think it was because they were trying to work in some of the backstory to get Firefly newbies up to speed in a short amount of time. The most notable was the interaction between Mal and Simon. I also could have used some more scenes with everyone’s favorite mysterious shepherd, Book. He needed a lot more scenes.

I highly recommend everyone watch Serenity. I don’t care if you dislike sci-fi or if you haven’t seen the TV series it is based on. You will like this movie. It is an instant classic in my book.

    hello?

hey i miss you and lori! sorry i’ve lost touch. my mom actually yelled at me the other day for not meeting up with you two the last dozen times you two were in the state. sorry!

    it’s quite a special thing if my mom remembers my friends’ name…she doesn’t really remember…or doesn’t care…hmmm…

anyways, i just wanted to apologize and say hi. i want to sign onto the mailing list, but last time i got alot of odd e-mails and it started cluttering up my mailbox (no offense). Could you keep me up to date as to when you and lori maybe visiting…or other mutual friends? my time is unfortunately limited and i want to make sure i don’t miss anything important (like visits and weddings…which i realize i have been missing alot of) sorry!

oh and what’s with the facial hair? do you still have it? you look kinda evil with it…haha…maybe it’s the facial expressions.

i can’t believe your kristin is married and that you are an uncle (lisa has a baby and another one on the way)! congrats!! was lisa affected by the recent weather?

    tell lori hi for me!

Lira! You have to send me an e-mail with your current e-mail address and phone number. I really don’t know how to get in touch with you right now. It’s as much our fault for not keeping in touch so we have to fix it. :)

I think the evil look has to do with the fact that I took that picture when I was working a support page for work on the weekend. That’s enough to make anyone look evil.

Lisa wasn’t affected by the weather… They live in San Antonio right now and Rita didn’t get in their way.

    Lori says hi too!
