Goals
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005The past couple of weeks have been a blur as I’ve gone through the routines of work and sleep. It seems as if I’ve been at work more often than not the past few weeks and it gets to be a bit draining. With my projects, Lori’s work, and helping where possible with hurricane relief efforts (although I haven’t done nearly as much as some of my teammates) it has been quite a busy time.
I’m on pager duty right now but I hand it off tomorrow and get to take Friday off. It’ll be the last time I get a full Friday off so I plan on enjoying it. I’ll probably play lots of World of Warcraft, do some writing, and maybe do some work on the Moore High Alumni site or Araneas. I need to mow the lawn so I’ll probably do that too.
I need to think about future goal. I haven’t put much thought into the future lately, but I can’t let myself be satisfied with the level I’m at. That leads to stagnation and backsliding. I’d like to work towards a Java certification, get promoted at work, and finish writing the Great American Novel. I’d also like to get a bigger house on a nice size plot of land, start a family, and conquer the world. Sometimes I feel the last one is the most obtainable. ![]()
Right now, my goal is to finish this blog entry and get some sleep before the pager whines at me like a newborn infant.
