A day off work
My team has worked out a pretty decent solution to handling pager rotation. A person goes on pager rotation on Thursday (getting the weekend out of the way quicker) and keeps it for a week. The following Thursday the pager is handed off to the next person in the rotation and the person who handed it off gets Friday off work. It’s a much needed comp day because right now we get paged a LOT, although we are working hard to improve the situation.
So I took today and slept in, getting caught up on sleep finally. After waking up, Lori met me for lunch at Centerton’s pizza place (Plaza Pizza, down the street from the house) to partake in their tasty lunch buffet.
After that I watched a movie I loved watching when I was younger: Enemy Mine. If you haven’t seen it, go rent it and watch it. It’s a sci-fi flick that tackles discrimination, hatred, and violence. It has Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett, Jr. who both play really compelling characters.
After watching the movie, I started working on a new web project. It’s about time I started doing something that *I* want to do, instead of someone else saying, “Hey I had an idea for a web project… can you make it work?” I’ll be announcing it later and hopefully people will enjoy it.
